Sarah BranchWhile I was sitting behind my husband and child having the time of their life in the drivers seat, I loved seeing this unusual setting of all these different sitings going on in one spot. The impala hopping along in front of us, the Ellie’s all doing their own thing. I just got this overwhelming realisation of the perfect detail everything has been created with.
How often do we get so complacent in life that we forget how incredibly powerful our Lord is. How often can the “evil” or terrible things happening in the world, weigh us down. Especially the thought of what our children have to face in the world as a generation, let’s be honest it’s a scary thought and feels totally out of our control. Anybody feeling me?
Well I had what felt like such a conviction while praying the other night that really gave me such hope and excitement for this, I guess you can call it “war” that we are living in! It went something like this:
I had been praying for quite a while the other night firstly for family friends that are going through a really hectic health situation and secondly for protection over our families.
I first saw a vision of the Holy Spirit enveloping the whole world in prayer, covering it with Gods protection. Then I heard that I must tell all the prayer intercessors and warriors I know; to start praying day and night for all our families, businesses, priests, pastors and the world for protection against all attacks. Twice the words “he comes to kill, steal and destroy” came up.
I got really panicked and started praying urgently and quickly sent my mom a message to do the same and God told me not be so hasty, listen to what he says first and then send the message out. A complete peace and stillness came over me and I heard “be still and know I am God”,
Also that there is nothing Satan can do without God knowing about in advance and anything he is going to do illegally that God always knows And always warns us first and that he has all his righteous ones protected in the world, we are to pray for them in order to keep them under that protection and righteousness. But to know that God is more powerful and we do it out of peace not panic or fear or worry. That Satan is Gods angel that fell so he is under him. And then that I must read scriptures on Gods power and then pray.
Before I share these with you, I will explain, once I had done this it was truly amazing how my perspective and way of praying changed completely. I was no longer praying from a point of panic or just hoping for the best but with such certainty of who I was in Christ and what power was working through me and who is in control. I feel this is such a necessary reminder especially when we have got to a point where we feel like life has got too much, or situations are looking too dark. We need scripture to remind us of the truth and give us that hope and strength we need.
What especially has stuck with me is the scripture “Jesus replied, “Your mistake is that you don’t know the Scriptures, and you don’t know the power of God.” Matthew 22:29. If we constantly were in the word like we are instructed to be (Joshua 1:8 Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.) how different would our outlook on life be? Would we have the fears and worries we tend to fall into?

Malachi 3:16-18
Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another,
And the Lord listened and heard them;
So a book of remembrance was written before Him
For those who fear the Lord
And who meditate on His name.
“They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts,
“On the day that I make them My jewels.
And I will spare them
As a man spares his own son who serves him.”
Then you shall again discern
Between the righteous and the wicked,
Between one who serves God
And one who does not serve Him.
2 Samuel 22:33
“For who is God except the Lord? Who but our God is a solid rock? God is my strong fortress, and he makes my way perfect.”
“And Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD before the new court and said, “O LORD God of our fathers, are you not God in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. In your hand are power and might, so that none is able to withstand you.” 2 Chronicles 20:6
God stretches the northern sky over empty space and hangs the earth on nothing. He wraps the rain in his thick clouds, and the clouds don’t burst with the weight. He covers the face of the moon, shrouding it with his clouds. He created the horizon when he separated the waters: he set the boundary between day and night. The foundations of heaven tremble; they shudder at his rebuke. By his power the sea grew calm. By his skill he crushed the great sea monster. His Spirit made the heavens beautiful, and his power pierced the gliding serpent. These are just the beginning of all that he does, merely a whisper of his power. Who, then, can comprehend the thunder of his power?” Job 26:7-14
“He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names. Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.” Psalm 147:4-5
